Latin America is embarking on a transformation, reclaiming its heritage, reinventing its tourism offerings, and expanding its horizons, and Panama is no exception. At Panorama of the Americas, we want to be an active part of this change, highlighting initiatives that empower our communities and enrich the traveler’s experience. This month, we present destinations and projects that remind us why it’s worth exploring further.

Panama First: After more than a decade of careful work, the colonial temples of Panama’s Old Town reopen their doors, transformed into an unprecedented cultural and tourist circuit.

Churches that for years stood as silent witnesses to time are now reborn as vibrant spaces where history, art, and faith engage in dialogue to reconnect our community with its roots. We are proud that this initiative has the support of partners such as Copa Airlines, Gotuuri, and Visa.

The circuit includes new Tourist Information Centers located in the Santa María la Antigua Cathedral Basilica, the Church of San Francisco de Asís, and the Church of La Merced, marking a milestone for cultural tourism in the country. These centers will provide guidance to visitors, promote the heritage value of each church, and, with the money collected from visits, contribute to their future conservation. At Panorama de las Américas, we are convinced that investing in the preservation of our heritage is also investing in the sustainable development of Panama.

In this edition, we also travel to a very different, but equally fascinating, setting: Los Cabos. There, where the desert plunges into the ocean in an unforgettable contrast of colors and textures, unfolds a region that combines luxury, adventure, and authenticity. Through the eyes of our contributors, we explore this powerful landscape that has made Los Cabos one of Mexico’s most vibrant destinations.

And because we know that every trip can be two trips in one, we celebrate the success of the Stopover program in Panama, which allows transit passengers to stay up to seven days at no additional cost to their airfare. This year alone, nearly 185,000 travelers took advantage of this opportunity to turn a simple connection into an unforgettable experience. In these pages, you’ll find four suggestions for making the most of that “extra time” and discovering new facets of our country.

Have a good travel.
