August Outlook with Gabriel Barletta

Gabriel Barletta

CEO of Panorama de las Américas

They say that before a great journey, there is always a great read. History is filled with men and women who embarked on adventures, inspired by the accounts left by other travelers. Good photographs and valuable data about places awaken our curiosity. It is then that the decisive moment arrives: to buy the ticket and depart.

I am Gabriel Barletta, CEO of Panorama de las Américas, the official magazine of Copa Airlines, and from this month on, I will be here, in this space, to share with you our travel stories. Our main goal is to sow in our readers the desire to depart. So, dear reader, we invite you to savor this month’s edition.

Our main goal is to sow in our readers the desire to depart.

Arrecife de coral en Panamá

Firstly, accept our invitation to visit one of Panama’s most impressive biodiversity hotspots: the Gulf of Chiriquí. While its more than ninety islands are covered in wild nature, its seas are home to the five giants of the sea: whales, sharks, turtles, and manta rays. Amid such paradise, a new wave of tourism ventures with a conservationist mindset and luxury boutique hotels are drawing the attention of conscious tourists.

In this edition, we also unveil several novelties that are driving the urban transformation of downtown Miami. It’s not just the construction of the spectacular Signature Bridge that is rapidly progressing before the eyes of locals and tourists. It is also the establishment of a recreation area under the metro rails known as the Underline and the metamorphosis of Allapattah into what is already foreseen as the expansion of its neighbors Wynwood and Design District.

Tulum ART PARK

On an international level, we also invite you to visit Tulum, the fashionable destination of the Mexican Caribbean that combines Mayan history, turquoise waters, and luxury hotels.

If you are in Panama and enjoy folklore, from the 15th to the 18th of this month, you will have the opportunity to witness the celebration of the Manito de Ocú. And if you are planning your next visit, remember that from the 19th to the 22nd of September, Fashion Week Panama will take place.

Enjoy, then, these letters and images that we offer you here. If we manage to awaken your interest to take the next step, we will be happy to meet you on our paths.
