For “Bola de Nieve”
Martirio and Chano Domínguez
Such a conjunction of music luminaries occurs once in a blue moon: Chano Domínguez on the piano and the emotive voice of Martirio revive classics by Ignacio Jacinto Villa Fernández, better known as “Bola de Nieve” (Snowball). At long last, the duo has recorded a show that has been touring Spain since September 2018. Until now, those of us on this side of the Atlantic have only been able to hear this show second-hand. The fifteen songs include “Si me pudieras querer” (If You Could Love Me), “No puedo ser feliz” (I Can’t Be Happy) and “Drume negrita” (Sleep, Little One), among others.
