Calypso / David Sedaris
The American writer and radio personality is releasing a Spanish version of one of his most recent books. Calypso, published in Spanish under the Blackie Books label, is a collection of ten essays (or stories, as some prefer to call them). With his beach house as the setting and his oddball, dysfunctional family as the choir, Sedaris meditates on middle age and his increasing awareness of mortality –both his own and his loved ones’– with the biting humor that has made him famous. Like all of his work, this book combines the personal and the public, the spiritual and the mundane, and the sublime and the ridiculous.
